Competitive Intelligence Analyst
Role Overview
As a Competitive Intelligence Analyst at Growth & Investment Agencies Ltd, you will uncover strategic insights on market competitors, emerging threats, and industry trends across African markets. Your analyses will inform our clients’ positioning, go‑to‑market strategies, and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in‑depth competitor profiling: products, pricing, partnerships, and go‑to‑market tactics
Monitor industry developments, M&A activity, and regulatory changes that impact competitive dynamics
Develop and maintain a centralized intelligence database and dashboards for real‑time tracking
Perform SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces, and strategic gap analyses to identify client opportunities and risks
Produce actionable intelligence reports, briefings, and presentations for internal teams and clients
Lead primary research efforts, including expert interviews, mystery shopping, and field visits
Collaborate with Strategy, Marketing, and Risk teams to integrate competitive insights into broader advisory projects
Train client stakeholders on best practices for ongoing competitive surveillance and response planning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Strategic Management, or related field
2–4 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or consulting
Proficiency in CI tools and databases (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Euromonitor, Crunchbase)
Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills; comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative data
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to distill complex findings into clear recommendations
Experience with frameworks such as SWOT, Five Forces, and strategic roadmapping
Skilled in Excel, PowerPoint, and data‑visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
Detail‑oriented and discreet, with a high standard for information accuracy and confidentiality
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Familiarity with African industry landscapes and key market players
Experience conducting primary research, interviews, and competitive benchmarking
Fluency in English; proficiency in a second language (e.g., French, Arabic, Swahili) is a plus
Ability to manage multiple research streams under tight deadlines
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Compensation
Salary Range: USD 50,000 – 60,000 per year
