Role Overview

As a Business Research Associate at Growth & Investment Agencies Ltd, you will deliver high‑quality market and competitive intelligence to support our strategic advisory projects. You’ll gather, analyze, and synthesize data on industries, companies, and trends across African markets to inform our clients’ decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct secondary research using databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Euromonitor, IBISWorld) and publicly available sources

  • Perform primary research through stakeholder interviews, surveys, and field visits

  • Analyze market size, growth drivers, and competitive landscapes for various sectors

  • Build and maintain financial and market‑sizing models in Excel

  • Prepare concise, client‑ready reports, slide decks, and data visualizations

  • Maintain and update our knowledge repository with key findings and best‑practice case studies

  • Support senior consultants in due‑diligence, opportunity assessment, and M&A analysis

  • Monitor ongoing projects’ data requirements and ensure timely delivery of research outputs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field

  • 1–3 years of experience in market research, consulting, or business intelligence

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; proficiency in Excel modeling

  • Experience with research tools and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to craft clear, impactful narratives

  • Detail‑oriented approach with commitment to data accuracy and integrity

  • Ability to manage multiple research requests and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Familiarity with African markets and sector‑specific dynamics (e.g., agriculture, energy, fintech)

  • Proficiency in data‑visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)

  • Experience conducting primary research, including stakeholder interviews and surveys

  • Basic understanding of financial‑statement analysis and valuation methodologies

  • Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new research techniques and industries

Compensation

Salary Range: USD 40,000 – 50,000 per year
